One of the most rewarding parts of "ghost hunting" isn't at all about finding ghosts; it's about helping people. I believe that every haunting happens for a reason. While many groups will go out and document what they can, with a bunch of high-tech equipment, that normally doesn't help the people involved. What matters, is finding peace for both sides -- the spirit that's unrest, and the people who must co-exist with it. There's a reason why a spirit is there... and while there's not much that can be done to remove residual hauntings, there may be a way to clear intelligent ones by finding what is causing them to "hang around" and addressing that issue. Alternatively, some spirits may just be happily attached to a location and don't want to leave. It's up to people like us to figure out that stuff and help everyone (dead, or alive). So please, remember there is a personal aspect to this field; it's not just about capturing evidence to prove whether or not ghosts exist.
